STOP steering your stationary car

Most of the modern cars have power steering, which dramatically reduces steering effort. But steering a stationary car, puts enormous amount of strain on the power steering parts, suspension parts and also results in faster tyre wear. Imagine the additional weight of the engine also on top of the front steering wheels.

Your car’s steering is designed for use while the wheels are rolling. When the wheels are rolling it reduces the friction and steering load. Try to move your car at least a few inches, forward or backward, while you steer it and this will go a long way in protecting many critical parts of your car.
